What we do

YMO Trust is dedicated to preventing child labour, advancing education and work skills for the benefit of all. We assist in the provision of education facilities in the interest of social welfare with the objective of improving the student’s and their family’s condition of life for generations to come.

Education

We support the educational needs of children at school age who due to economic poverty are in danger of falling out of education or have already fallen out and may go into child labour. UNICEF and local knowledge dictates that the problem is vast across the developing world. By supporting education YMO Trust will help increase literacy and education standards in line or beyond what is set by local or government standards.

Our Training Centres or Academies deliver English, Mathematics, Information Technology and local language courses to help bolster a child’s education levels. This provides these children with the knowledge and education to succeed and excel in the local education system, which in turn will assist them in securing decent employment in the future. This will give these children the ability to provide and financially support their families, educate current and future generations to levels that are taken for granted in developed nations and thus fulfil their potential

Vocational Training & Life Skills

We provide vocational training for school leavers at our training centres to increase their options and improve their chances of employment through skills based training e.g. motor mechanics, engineering, telecommunications, tailoring for example.

This provides young adults with recognised skill sets and qualifications to increase their chances of securing future employment. YMO Trust has a government recognised accreditation for the training we provide, which means young adults are issued with a nationally recognised certificate upon successful completion of any course, improving their chances of employment.

Orphans

YMO Trust works closely with a large orphanage in Sylhet, Bangladesh. The Sylhet Inclusive School & College Orphanage (SISC), which has close to 500 orphans, is provided with additional teaching staff financed by the YMO Trust. We have also introduced and committed to a ‘mid-day meal’ for every single child, so they can receive better nutrition, a most vital component to a child’s capacity to learn and their overall welfare.
