YMO is a non-governmental grass roots charity run by volunteers which was founded in 2012 by a concerned individual who witnessed child labour in their native country first hand. Upon experiencing and seeing child labour this inspired our founder to try and make a difference for young children brought up in improvised countries.
Therefore, he devised a concept to help educate these young children within his community, in the impoverished country. Utilising his own resources he setup a number of educational classes to teach these young children. After then seeing the positive impact this had within his local community the YMO Vision was born.
Upon returning to the UK his mission was clear, which is to prevent child labour and empower young people to fulfil their potential through education, vocational training and life skills. However, he was unable to do this himself and approached like minded individuals from diverse backgrounds to assist developing the concept and YMO vision. Once this task was achieved he then approached a number of different professionals, each bringing a unique and beneficial skill set to the team, who then formed the YMO Executive Board who could deliver the YMO vision.
Since this time, our charity has independently secured funding from the UK and setup it’s first training centre, which is fully operational. Part of the charities vision is to use the model to setup this education training centre to open many more in different improvised countries.
Each member of the YMO team volunteers their time and effort because we are inspired to help provide basic tools of life which we have become accustomed too and now take for granted in developed nations. We firmly believe that
“Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed a family for a lifetime”
So please join us on this inspirational journey in any way you can, by helping us to raise awareness of our charity through word of mouth, volunteer to fund raise on our behalf, volunteer to assist at one of our events or simple donate some of your hard earned money to help these children who want to learn but have no facilities or money to do so…
